Surface Emissions and Migration

MM Enviro Ltd have introduced to the UK a very much simplified method of measuring and analysing Landfill gas levels within active and completed Landfills. The assessment is based on a method developed over many years by the Swiss company Oester/Braun.

A number of techniques are used depending upon the clients individual requirements. They are Infra-red, Flame Ionisation Detection and Gas Chromatography. Using these techniques MM Enviro Ltd can offer a composite service to investigate, monitor and assess Landfill Gas within the site and, no less importantly, beyond it.

Once the investigation is complete, normally in one to three days, a full and detailed report is produced. The report will give a full description of how the various elements of the investigation were carried out, a complete list of all the readings taken, an assessment of the data and, if required, proposals as to what actions are necessary to reduce the risks.

Migration of Landfill Gas from active or closed Landfills is of serious concern for every one not least those who have the responsibility for such sites. There are many Landfill sites that have been closed for a number of years, which have become the un-expected responsibility of some Local Authorities. An assessment of the site is an important first step in understanding the situation within it.

The site investigation itself is conducted in a very discreet manner by one or two Specialists at most. There is no heavy plant or equipment involved and our site vehicles are un-marked. With our wide experience we are well aware as to how sensitive such sites can be.

The are many benefits on offer with this service such as:

Low cost

High Accuracy

Fast Response
